During the Paris design week, 10 student’s projects from ECAL (Cantonal Art School of Lausanne) will be exhibited, as they worked on the theme of mixology for the French brand Rémy Martin: an interesting research on materials, forms and colors, new ways to make inventive cocktails based on exceptional ingredients.
Various Parisian bars (Andy Wahloo, the Calbar, the Lipstick, Lockwood, the bar at the Molitor swimming pool and the Royal Monceau) will add these specific cocktails on their menus for the duration of the Paris Design Week.

Chez Miki

I thought I already tried (almost) all the Japanese restaurants in the area but I found this one by chance in a small alley. The lunch menu at 15 € includes a delicious sashimi (or eel, grilled salmon, …), and two selectable entrees, like this excellent sweet potato croquette and Japanese omelette.

Devinette

Can you guess what these are? I bought them on a Sicilian market, you can prepare them with hot water and drink it as a herbal tea. There is another hint on my Instagram and Facebook page…
Well done to Erika who found the answer: they are dried flowers from the prickly pear tree!

Ginger and fennel cod

This recipe is really simple and quick! You will need:

– 2 cod fillets
– 1 organic lemon
– 1 fennel
– a piece of ginger
– olive oil
– salt and pepper
  1. Place the cod in a dish with the fennel cut into 4. Drizzle with olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
  2. Add the chopped ginger and some lemon slices.
  3. Bake 10 to 15 minutes 180 degrees (T7), then grill at least 5 minutes until the skin is crispy. If you prefer well cooked fennel, put in before the fish for 15 minutes.
