Unexpected Pleasures

____________
If you’re in London in December (12/12/5 – 13/03/03), don’t hesitate to visit the Design Museum, not only because the walk on the Thames is lovely, but also because you can have a look at the exhibition Unexpected Pleasures, celebrating the work of contemporary jewellers who have challenged the conventions of jewellery design, surveying the experience of wearing jewellery, looking at the ways in which meaning and narratives are expressed in jewellery, offering insights into the origins of contemporary jewellery today.

From the 4th of September until the 21st of October, Pierre Hermé is launching a new collection called “Infinitely Lemon”. He created several desserts with this famous citrus fruit : baba, ice-cream, waffle, millefeuille, and of course…a macaron! And to celebrate the launch of this acid collection, he’s offering a lemon macaron tomorrow, the 3rd of October, if you dress in yellow! The operation is available in Paris, Lyon, Nantes, Nice, Strasbourg and London.

Figs with thyme sirup

Here is a delicious and yet super simple – as always – recipe. I made it with some garden figs my friend gave me, and a peach. I am (finally) going on holidays, so stay tuned on Instagram or Facebook, and see you soon on the blog!
The Ingredients (for 1 serving)
– 1 peach
– a few fresh figs
– 1 tbsp thyme sirup*
– 1 ts cinammon
The Recipe
  1. Peel the peach and cut it into quarters.
  2. I didn’t peel the figs because they were small and fresh from the garden. I just cut the sides.
  3. Place everything into a pan, and let it boil with some water, cover it.
  4. Bake for about 30 minutes while pouring water often, whenever the sirup evaporates.
  5. You can serve it with yogurt or a sour cream.

*I bought mine but you can easily make some : pour 1/2 cup of sugar with some water into a pan, let it boil, and then reduce the heat. Wait until the sirup has reduced and add 3 branches of fresh thyme, and the juice of half a lemon.

London
London, a grey and rainy Sunday morning, a sudden envy of a typical English breakfast, tea and scones. A quick search on internet later, eeny, meeny, miny, moe and Kopapa. Best breakfast – ever!
Flower shaped coffees, homemade ice teas and smoothies, amazing date scones. This incredible poched egg and its salmon, spinach and hollandaise sauce tickle my taste buds. A pure delight. And those scrambled eggs, with mushrooms, roasted tomatoe and bacon…We’ll come back for more!
