She’s like a rainbow.





I’m always fascinated by those weird and colorful looking cakes, I don’t know if I’ll ever have the patience of preparing them.
I found some of these pictures on the internet so I don’t have any links to them, but the last ones are from Martha Stewart, Whisk Kid‘s blog and Libelul‘s blog, and with recipes please!

Je suis souvent fascinée par ces gâteaux bizarroïdes et multicolores, mais je ne sais pas si j’aurai un jour la patience de les confectionner.

Oven gingerbread Apples

This is a recipe higly inspired from Cyril Lignac‘s recipe book.

The Ingredients

  • 4 rennet apples
  • 1 lemon
  • 4 slices of gingerbread
  • 50g of butter (take it out of the frige 30 minutes before)
  • 30g of brown sugar
  • 60g of crushed almonds
  • 15cl of cider

The Recipe

  1. Clean the apples and take the cores out.
  2. With a knife, make incisions in the apple’s skin vertically.
  3. Crumble the gingerbread and mix it with the butter to obtain a soft paste.
  4. Add the sugar and the almonds.
  5. Fill the apples with it, and sprinkle them with honey, the lemon juice and cider.
  6. Put in the oven for 30-45 minutes depending on the apple type, at 180℃ (th. 6)
  7. Serve with a cinnamon or gingerbread ice-cream and some rosemary.

Oops, too late!

Oops, I’m a bit late to post this one for French Mother’s Day, but it’s never too late to talk about Japanese pastry chef Sadaharu Aoki, established in Paris (boutiques opened also in Tokyo and Taipei), dedicated to desserts with a Japanese touch.
Here is the special “Paradis fraise” for Mother’s Day, which was available this weekend only in their
boutiques, and at Lafayette, and other lovely looking cakes.
